5 Day Self Drive to L. Manyara & Serengeti NP
The 5 Day self drive tour rewards you a chance to explore the Arusha city before you hit the road to go and visit the wildlife parks of Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks for amazing wildlife watching and Big Five tour.
Day 1: Visit Arusha City
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport and meet the agent from 4×4 Tanzania Ltd who will brief you shortly before inspect the car and then sign the car rental agreement and then handle car key. You can spend this day just driving in the city exploring Arusha city and learning to drive in the crazy traffic of Africa. Then in the evening you will have dinner and overnight at Outpost Lodge or Arusha Naaz Hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
On this day you will have breakfast at the lodge and then transfer to Lake Manyara National Park which is found in 126km from Arusha. The drive can take you like one and half hours reaching there at around midday for lunch before you go for game drive in the park where you will watch different wildlife like; East African lions, Leopards, elephants, cheetahs, gazelles, blue monkeys, impala, hippo, Masai giraffe, zebras and many more wild animals inhabit this park. Not forgetting the variety of flamingos that inhabit the park. Then after you will return in the late evening the lodge for dinner and over night at Lake Manyara Bush Camp, Kiboko Bush Camp or Panorama Safari Camp and Lodge.
Day 3 and 4: Explore Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at the lodge your will hit the road and drive 205km to Serengeti National Park, via the wonderful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will continue into the core of African wilderness – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance to the extent the eye can see. Then you will continue to the central park region, known as the Seronera region, one of the areas in the park with the largest concentration of wildlife, including the Seronera River, which act as the main water source in this area and in this manner attracts all wildlife species in Serengeti National Park. You will arrive in the park at lunch time, have lunch and then go for afternoon game drive in the park where you will see variety of animals and different bird species in the park. After, you will return to the lodge for dinner and at Serengeti Kati Tented Camp or Kananga Special Tented Camp.
Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in the Park
On this day you will have a relaxed morning, have breakfast at the lodge and then transfer for full day game drive with your packed lunch. On this day you will have a chance to see the big five in the park and more other wildlife animals including zebra, impala, gazelle, topi, hartebeest, buffalo, waterbuck – also happens in large numbers during the rainy season. You will have picnic lunch and later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Arusha
On this day you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then pack your stuff this leaving this beautiful place. This morning you will hit the road and drive for 4 hours to Arusha where you will have to meet the agent from 4×4 Tanzania Ltd to receive the vehicle before your board your flight back home.
